1832 O-117 R4+ Capped Bust Half Dollar

Reverse: L (Second Marriage)
Variety Attribution: Obverse-Star 1 is 1 1/4 mm. from Drapery. Star 13 is 1/2 mm. from curl. Date is 8 mm.and low. the first 1 was struck with a long serif and then repunched with the short blunt type 1, as the serif clearly indicates. Also traces of this recutting show at base and along right side.
Reverse- 50 C. is 1 1/4 mm. and high, with olive stem only 1/4 mm. from top of C. and extending 3/4 of the way across it. A tall open 5 with straight pointed top. Arrow to A is 1/2 mm. Lower crossbar extends into wing at left. A small tine at upper right corner of shield. I is centered under T. A die defect line from top left corner of shield arcing to center of shield is visible on well preserved specimens.
