1827 O-136 R4 Capped Bust Half Dollar
Reverse: AB (Second Marriage)
Available in grades up to MS66, with a decent population of AU's for an R4. The early die state with the 8 in the dentils is actually very rare and may be an R6.
NGC Graded XF45. Original gray dirt coin struck from very worn dies. Milling is completely gone and the "8" punched below the date is lapped off.
A little view of part of the edge. OR off center and almost running into HALF.
Variety Attribution: Obverse-Star 1 is 3/4 mm. from drapery. Date is 8 1/2mm. Inner points of stars 6-7 and 12-13 closer together than others. Die lines in field above cap. Earlier die states exhibit the top loop of an "8" punched in the dentils below the 8. This is lapped off in the later die state (example above).
