1831 O-117 R4 Capped Bust Half Dollar

A very tough R4 with perhaps only 2 MS examples extant. Very rare problem free above XF.
Variety Attribution: Obverse-Star 13 is 1/2 mm. from curl. Stars have slender lines, are mostly sharp and well clear of milling. Date is 7 mm. the tall slender 1's have full serifs. 8 sharply higher than 3. Obverses 8 and 10 (O-116) are quite similar in many respects, however, among specific differences, are mouth, star 12, general sharpness of stars and their relation to the milling.
Reverse- 50 C. is 1 mm. and high. Arrow to A is 1 mm. Right side of I is centered under T. Left side of shield appears as a broad double line. left base of M well above right base of A. Right lower serif of M recut. Legend and milling are weaker than on O-116, usually only a trace of the latter.
