1831, O-114, Capped Bust, Half Dollar

1831, O-114, Capped Bust, Half Dollar
Variety Attribution: Obverse-Star 8 nearly 3/4 mm. from cap and star 13 very close to curl. Stars are usually flat with rather blunt points. Date is a close 7 mm. with blunt 1's and a 3 that is heavy and boldly curved. Two pair of segments in milling below end of bust are joined like Siamese twins. This obverse is similar to obverse 6 (O-109 and O-110) but definitely different. Small die defect causes a lump above clasp and right of curl.
Reverse- 50 C. is 1 1/4 mm. and high. Arrow to A is 1/2 mm. Left sides of T and I in line.Lines of stripe 3 extend below shield with center line almost to arroshaft.
