1829 O-104 R3 Capped Bust Half Dollar

O-104 R5+? below, O-104a R3 at bottom
This is a tough R3, with maybe only a pair of MS examples known (MS63 at the top), and AU examples being rather scarce and difficult to come by as problem free examples. The prime state is especially difficult.
Variety Attribution: Obverse-All stars on left drawn to edge. Star 13 almost 1/2 mm. from Curl. Date is 8 1/4 mm. Some specimens show die lump below bust to left of date.
O-104: Reverse- 50 C. is 1 mm. large and high. Curved top of the 5 is only about 1/4 mm. from feather that extends 3/4 across top of 5. C is also veryclose to end of olive stem. Arrow to A is 1/2 mm. Right sides of T-I in line. Rough die lump in field under eagles head. Numerous fine die lines along left side of right wing tip. Die defect into field at junction of tail feathers and left wing.
O-104a: A1 and A2 now filled at top.
