1829 O-110 R2 Capped Bust Half Dollar

O-110 R2 is below, O-110a R2 at bottom
Higher grade 'a' die state examples are tougher than the earlier die state suggesting an R3 or even R4 for the state, R2 overall. Still common overall in higher grades with perhaps MS64 being at the top.
Variety Attribution: Obverse-Date is 8 3/4 mm. 9 shows recutting at right. Lips are parted to half depth of mouth.
Reverse- 50 C. is 1 1/4 mm. and high. Arrow to A is 3/4 mm. Right sides of T-I in line. Letters of legend are large, with words crowded together. A scant 3/4 mm. between UNITED and STATES. Line 3 stripe 4 well below shield. This is reverse P used in 1828.
O-110a: There is a die crack at top of TATES OF AMERI and another from leaves across 50 C. to arrowhreads.
NGC Graded XF45. A dark, somewhat lustrous and colorful example that has the look of being in collections for much of its life. So close to AU.
