1811 O-109 R2 Small 8 Capped Bust Half Dollar

An interesting common variety with a big, neat crack on the reverse. The finest is an NGC graded MS66. High end specimens make rather frequent appearances on the market.

Variety Attribution: Obverse-Stars are large and well formed. Star 13 is 1/4 mm. from curl. Date is 9 3/4 mm. small and well centered. Sharp defect in upper lip.

Reverse-50 C. is 2 mm. and low. Arrow to A is 1/2 mm. Center dot between crossbars 4 and 5. Right sides of T-I are in line. A sharp die crack from edge joins left side of S, bisects scroll just left of P and penetrates far into left wing. The scroll is actually off set at this die crack. Another fine crack through 50 C., olive leaves and UNITED. A third from second T in STATES through legend to arrowheads. Rim broken down to top of first S.
