1808 O-104 R2 Capped Bust Half Dollar
Obverse: 4
Reverse: D
Reverse: D
O-104 R2 below, O-104a R5 at bottom
This is a tough die marriage in AU and MS grades, though there are a few rather pricey MS64's out there. Most are in lower grade or have some sort of issue. Finding one that has a decent strike may pose a problem, as the details tend to be weak. There is one known MS 104a example, but the 'a' die state tends to be very rare.
Variety Attribution: Obverse-Date is 9 mm. and high. There is a small die defect ridge from top of R to cap. A longer defect ridge crosses ribbons at back of head.
Reverse-50 C. is 1 3/4 mm and low. Arrow to A is 3/4 mm. Arrowheads are very close. A slender die line slants upward from top side of olive stem.
O-104a: Die crack at legend on right.
