1827 O-132 R3 Capped Bust Half Dollar

Reverse: Y (Second Marriage)
Examples exist for this marriage up through MS65, and do appear frequently enough to be aquired in most grades.
Variety Attribution: Obverse-Nearly all stars show recutting with small extra points, with stars 7, 11, and 12 the most noticeable. Star 1 is 1 mm. from Drapery. Star 13 is 1/4 mm. from Curl. Date is 8 mm, with a tall serif on base of 2. A die line (extension of curl) between L and I in LIBERTY joins headband to curl at bottom and to cap above. Only a few portions of the recutting of stars show in this marriage.
Reverse- 50 C. is 2 mm. and high. Arrow to A is 1/4 mm. Right sides of T-I in line. UN solidly attached at top. Stripes 3 through 6 are mostly solid. A number of stripe lines extend into the crossbars. Some specimens show small die defect bumps around 50 C., C in 50 C. is recut at serif.
