1827 O-131 R2 Capped Bust Half Dollar

High grade examples are available for this marriage, with a couple MS65's leading the pack. AU's make appearances frequently as well.
NGC Graded AU50. This one defines the "Barn Find" coin. Crusty and original with all the dirt. Bought this one raw on EBAY from an "Estate Sale" back around Y2K. Musings on this coin can be found on my blog HERE
Variety Attribution: Obverse-Nearly all stars show recutting with small extra points, with stars 7, 11, and 12 the most noticeable. Star 1 is 1 mm. from Drapery. Star 13 is 1/4 mm. from Curl. Date is 8 mm, with a tall serif on base of 2. A die line (extension of curl) between L and I in LIBERTY joins headband to curl at bottom and to cap above.
Reverse- 50 C. is 2 mm. and well centered. Arrow to A is slightly over 1/2 mm. I is centered under right side of T. Stripes 2 through 6 are usually filled.
