1827 O-119 R3 Capped Bust Half Dollar
Obverse: 14 (Second Marriage)
Reverse: C (Second Marriage, first used in 1826 as Rev C)
Very tough in Mint State, and scarce in AU grades without issues. In fact, it seems this marriage was hit heavily with a mass cleaning!
Variety Attribution : Obverse-This obverse is very similar to obverse 2 (see O-104), but on this one star 2 points to lower half of a segment and top of 1 is a full mm. from drapery. On obverse 2 star 2 points to the upper half of the segment and the 1 is 3/4 mm from drapery. Date is 8 1/4 mm. and rather low. Die has begun to break down from wear. Little or no milling. Stars mostly flat and drawn to edge. Bottom of 8 is broken and joined to edge by the chipped die.
Reverse- 50 C. is 1 1/2 mm. and low. Left sides of T-I in line. Line 1 of stripe 2 is solid to second crossbar.
