1827 O-108 R4- Capped Bust Half Dollar

O-108 R4-? Below, O-108a R4- at bottom. Likely R4- Overall, with the earlier state being an R5 or scarcer. Generally available in all grades if one is not looking for the earlier state.
Variety Attribution O-108: Obverse-Star 1 is 3/4 mm. from drapery. Star 13 is 1/4 mm. from curl. Date is 8 mm. Mouth open. A small but deliberate dot has been placed just above the inner point of star 1.
O-108a: Die dot has been removed by lapping on most specimens.
O-108: Reverse- 50 C. is 1 1/2 mm. Arrow to A is 1/4 mm. I is centered below T. Nost of lines in stripes extend well below shield. Rusting die has poduced a small patch of die dots in field between I in UNITED and left wing.
O-108a: Die break lump in upper part of F. The die dots in field below I in UNITED have been lapped so that only one or two remain.
