1826 O-106 R3 Capped Bust Half Dollar

The early die state is less common and perhaps more of an R4 rarity as compared with the 106a die state which appears more frequently.
Variety Attribution: Obverse-Star 13 is a close 1/4 mm. from curl. Milling narrow and weak. A strand of curl penetrates base of L in LIBERTY. Date is 8 mm.and 8 shows recutting.
Reverse- 50 C. is 2 mm. Arrow to A is 1/2 mm. I is centered under right side of T. RI joined solid at base and there is a small extra serif just above the regular serif at left base of R in AMERICA.
O-106a: Die crack along top of STATES OF A. Another through RICA and across arrowheads to 0 C.
