1824 O-115 R2 Capped Bust Half Dollar

This die marriage is rather common in high grades, With the finest being the Kaufman specimen at MS66. It appears frequently in Mint State at auction with many examples (reletively speaking) at the MS64 level of preservation.
NGC Graded AU58. A colorfully toned example with a touch of wear on the high points. Luster is complete in the fields.
Variety Attribution: Obverse-Stars 7, 8, 13 all about 1/2 mm. from cap and curl. Stars large and well formed and close to milling. Date is 8 mm., with large figures almost evenly spaced.
Reverse- 50C is 2 mm. Arrow to A is 3/4 mm. AM touch at base and ED AT ME nearly do. I is centered under T. N is clearly higher than I. The tiny defect between left wing and corner of scroll is sharp on all seen. Most specimens show a die chip at right edges of motto and a dot inside lower portion of C in 50 C.
