1819 O-113 R1 Capped Bust Half Dollar

This one is considered R1, with 1000+ examples surviving, yet it does not seem to appear on the market quite as often as an R1 would indicate. Perhaps a bit of research is needed on this...MS65 appears to be finest.

PCGS Graded AU53. Moderate gray, orange and blue toning. A few contact marks but nothing serious. Luster suits the grade. Pinches at 11 and 5 O'clock indicate a guido, and the edge lettering is messsed under a prong at HALF A.

Variety Attribution: Obverse-Stars are all large, well formed and close to milling. Date is 9 1/4 mm. and rather low.

Reverse- 50 C. is 2 1/4 mm. and low, a large round 5 with curved top. Arrowheads are close and joined to each other and to shafts above by small die defects. Arrow to A  is slightly over 1/2 mm. Left sides of T-I are in line.
