The early die state without cracks is rather rare and the 104a die state has many neat cracks attracting the attention of collectors. There are high grade examples available along with a decent pop of XF and AU coins, but the competition is high, especially because of the date.
Variety Attribution O-104: Obverse-Date is 9 1/4 mm. with broad 8 and second 1 is lower than the other figures.
O-104a: Die cracks, one from star 3 to end of nose. Another from 18 crosses end of butst to inner points of stars 1 and 2. A third crack from second 1 through 4 to curl.
O-104: Reverse- 50 C. is 2 3/4 mm. and low. Arrow to A is 3/4 mm. Center dot on crossbar 5. Right sides of T-I are in line. This early state without any die cracks is very scarce.
O-104a: Die cracks, one from edge through lower half of U across tip of wing, olive leaves and arrows. Another from base of U under NI to base of T then upward through ED to top of ST. Still another from edge above last S in STATES across OF to edge above M.
