1808 O-102 R2 Capped Bust Half Dollar

Variety Attribution O-102 Prime R5: Obverse- Date is 9 mm. L has sharp crossbars in bottom. This obverse without die crack is RARE.

O-102a R2: Die crack spans the entire obverse from edge below date, touches left side of 0, slightly curving across curls to below ribbon end. Another from end of first through B of LIBERTY and across cap to edge above. Later another crack joins frist two below ribbon forming a triangular chip. Another extends from main crack below ear through star 8 to edge. Later die states show a fine crack that joins stars 1 though 5 and curves to forecurl. another from edge below star 1 across drapery and toward clasp.

Reverse O-102 R5: 50 C. is 1 3/4 mm. and low. Arrow to A is 1 mm. A sharp center dot near junction of left wing and shield.On most specimens a broad die break or chip, joins the lower left wing to tail feathers. Also a fine die crack from base of ITE in UNITED to scroll.

O-102a R2: Additional die cracks, one from edge below 5 to top of UNIT. Another from edge through ICA to below C.
